Join us in kicking off the wedding weekend!
This is a casual event for everyone to settle in and join for a dinner and a drink (or seven... it is an all inclusive).
Dress Code: Western clothing - Tropical Vibes (think flowy dress or linen button downs)
*This will be an outdoor event at SACBE. SACBE is a beach bar, so we recommend not wearing high heels. SACBE is a beach front space so expect some sand and gorgeous views.
Love, Laughter and a touch of Haldi
Come douse us in turmeric paste amidst a whole lot of love and laughter.
Our haldi ceremony will be followed by a round of holi colors!
In old times, Haldi ceremony was a beautifying ritual for a groom and a bride - their bodies were fully covered with a paste made of turmeric and rose water. The mixture was supposed to give a gorgeous glow to the skin and add a final touch to their beauty before the Big Day. Traditionally, the ceremony would be performed separately for a bride and groom before the wedding. We're doing this a little bit different with a joint haldi!
Dress Code: Bright shades of white, yellow, and orange
Indian attire recommended but midi/ maxi dresses and skirts work also. For men, linen shirts and khakhis (or something similar) work great if you choose not to wear Indian attire.
*We recommend not wearing high heels
Location: Marriot Beach front
Sangeet
The Sangeet event is inspired by the enthusiasm of Bollywood, creating an intimate, memorable night for the couple’s close friends and family. It'll be an epic celebration with lots of games and dancing!
Dress Code: Bollywood Glam, bring on the beautiful colors and glitter! We recommend Indian attire for this event. Midi/maxi outfits for women or nice button down and pants for men work also.
This event will take place at La Isla Terrace. This is a heel friendly location should you choose to wear heels.
*This will be an outdoor event
Baraat and Wedding Ceremony
The groom's side will start with the Baraat - a celebratory wedding procession meant to bring the groom to the wedding venue with much excitement and fervor.
Keeping with customary tradition, from the pheras to the sindoor and mangalsutra, it will be a beautiful traditional ceremony with a beautiful ocean backdrop.
The wedding ceremony will be followed by lunch.
Dress Code: Traditional Indian or Western Formal
